Well i wanted some bass in my S10 so i bought the RF Prime 12'' Sub due to it being the shallowest sub ABC Warehouse ( Who ALWAYS hooks me up FAT) had instock. I picked this one up at the SUPER low low cost of 50.00$ with the sealed box wrapped and everything :). I built the amp rack the next day and wrapped it in black vinyl. The amp is a Infinity 7521a 283 RMS @ 4 ohms. I used to use two of those to run the blazers interiors lol, they have been siting for years. Well on Day 3 the sub is now Junk. I didn't think i was over powering it but i must have been. I will say that that one little (150RMS) 12 was pretty decent in my little S10. Im gonna try to get a new one to last me a week until i pick up an Alpine type S 12 or a Slim RF P3 12 or Slim Pioneer 12. I have almost 300 RMS what sub should i use? Its a standard cab and i dont want more in my system than i paid for the truck, I don't wanna be THAT guy LOL. I installed a python LED 2-way alarm with lock actuators to. Just to make sure no one messes with my bangin ass S10 :hairtrick:

here are a few pics

Picked up that JVC deck New in the box for 50.00$ and the Alarm was 40.00 Used From my buddies truck which i installed so i knew it was good :) I need to keep the box as THIN as possible the current box is 13X24X8 using 3/4 MDF. My next box is going to be 1/2 MDF. I have 24" wide behind the passenger seat and 24" under the back window. There is NO room behind my seat as im a 6'1" and a fat ass. As always guys thanks for the input...

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

Well u did give a low line woofer almost double it's RMS, what did u expect to happen to it?? It was either overpowering or clipping, prolli a combo of both which will kill that sub quite quickly.

For that amount of power I'd suggest an IA 187 over almost anything in that power range. Also look into RE REs or Hifonics Hifis.

1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... It's only getting walled off if I don't meet my goal @ SBN.

Pioneer AVIC-N2

(12) 12" RE SXs old model.... (3) AB VFL 500.1 @ 1ohm each

Dual 300amp Ohio Gen alts.... (10) Northstar NSB-125s

26ft3 @ 33hz w/ a ton of port area

156.5 @ 40hz @ dash, Db Drag style / 153.2 Bassrace

i had the gain on the amp 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up. I went back today and got a new one. They turned the amp up to half gain half boost and said that it should be fine. We'll see. Its under warranty to its on them since the pulled the truck in and tuned it. I think im gonna order a RF P3 slim sub next.
