CaptainzPlanetz
Well I got my mids and highs amp and am gonna be installing it today, the think is I really dont want to run an extra remote wire, so my Q is would it be okay to put a jumper wire from my sub amp to my mids and highs amp, so another wire wont have to be ran? bigredishott
That should be fine. It's when you get a bunch of amps you would wanna use a relay. Hellbound Train
Definitely a great question. I was thinking the same thing since I will be running three amplifiers in my ranger.
n8ball2013
your remote turn on lead from the head unit is very weak. once you split it several times you run the risk of burning it out and causing issues. for two amps it shouldn't be that big a deal. raytard
amps cant draw extra current through the rem and decks dont output extra, worse case scenario is the amps wont turn on. i have 4 amps and a stinger voltmeter paralelled in my car and it all works fine. If you're running some obscene amount use a relay. in general a deck has about 500ma of output, and an amp usually takes 100-150ma to trip the turn on. CaptainzPlanetz
Has anyone had any problems using the RCA voltage sense turn-on? That is another option I have for the amp, I believe my HU has 5 volt preouts. Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ CaptainzPlanetz
its called daisy chaining and it's perfectly fine for two amps. Three may be pushing and remember length plays a factor I knew that term applied to RCA's but didnt know it did for Turn On Leads. The sub amps will be on top of each other in an amp rack so that run will only be about 2 or 3 inches, and the mids and high amp will have a run from those amps that is about 6 inches.
