BassJunkie
Designing a wall for two 18's for my car, here's what I have so far. Feedback? Four 4 inch aero ports be ok for 10-11 cubes after displacement? Quote 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. BassJunkie
for walls a nice big ol slot port is preferred but aeros work I was thinking about a slot port, but was leaning towards aero's since I've read they're more efficient and possibly increase spl. If I go with a slot I have to get another sheet of mdf just for the port, which kinda sucks Quote 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. BassJunkie
Another question, when I calculate port displacement do I just count the displacement of the wood or do I also include the space in the port? Idk if anyone understands what I'm asking, kinda hard to word. Quote 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. MXmike800
unless your port is the size of the whole dam box i dont think you should be worried about port displacement man youll be fine

Marlo Stanfield
For wall builds a large slot port is usually the most successful way to build.. Also for 2 18s 4 4" aeros is not much port area at all. If you choose to stick with aeros I'd suggest like 3 6" aeros or 2 8", hell for my 2 15s I run a single 10" one but that's in a regular enclosure. For wall builds aeros usually don't work as well as you would expect. Quote 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud...
