babyjoker
Im having a problem with the locking mechanism on my 93, lincoln towncar. it has a switch to unlock the doors, but wont unlock/lock any of them. what it does do is turn the headlights on when i flip it to unlock the doors. I dont have a clue on how to fix it so if u guys can give a starting point i would really appreciate it. babyjoker
sorry about the confusion, just got, i bought the car for 800$, i just cared that it ran fine and had plenty of trunk space for my future project the driver door lock was busted because the former owner forgot his keys inside the car, so when i got it i didnt think twice about locking it, thought it would be a simple repair/replace but the electrical issue has me stumped, never seen headlights turn on by flicking the lock switch. roscoe1129
sounds like a rewired wrong issue check your relays to make sure they arent wired to the wrong switch also check to see if any wires have been spliced and rewired, sounds like an alarm or keyless entry job was hacked and the wires got crossed. does the headlight switch work on the headlights? babyjoker
everything works as it should, headlight switch is fine, windows work fine,ac, etc, just the lock switch, on each door not just the driver door Quote 1999 Eclipse N/T 12'' Fi BTL Gp3000d PM D3100
roscoe1129
look at your gray wire coming from the head light switch to the fuse relay area and make sure there are no bare spots or wires tapped into it also Door Lock Pink/Yellow Behind Glove Compartment Reverse Polarity Door Unlock Pink/Light Green W/Keyless Negative Trigger check those wires for the same hope this helps Quote Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer Scientia est Vox "In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!!
