i got to 18 inch aq hdc3 18 2ohm copper coils and i am wondering how big to make the box. i am going to buy two MB quart dsc 2000.1 for 270 each and strap them. and two deka 9g31 battery's for 180 each. these r the specs i have now. 1 inch mdf, H 22inchs , W 49 inchs , D 26 inchs. port size H 20 inchs , L 15 inch , W 6 inchs . i really do not want to go any tall but can make it longer if it is not enough room for the subs and i use the12volt.com to do the tuning and i think it is off i want like 35-38 it is going in the back of a expedition

User on here made a really good box calculator, ExpoSport. Or you can use RE's box calculator but you have to account for sub displacement, 45s, and bracing yourself

6 cubes net is a good all around box. Tune 36-38hz.

Thats straight from the man at AQ. I emailed about this a week ago. He recommends 16 sq in per cube so you need a box 12 cubes berore port and sub displacement and 192 sq in of port. With the dimensions you have up there you are working with 13 cubes gross. The port is going to take up 2.3 cubic feet. Thats a 19 x 10 inch sq port 19 in long, I allowed for 3/4" port walls. Then you need to remove area for displacement. Dont have a number for that but could assume .25 to .35 for each woofer.

Your already down to 10.5 to 10.75 net cubes for the box. You might get away with that but you might want to see if you can find some more space.

Im building a box for my Ex cab Chevy for those same woofers with the alum coils.
