Box I designed Sealed But want to make it ported

well the 16" is a flexible dimension on the length... But the more length I add The more trunk space I lose.

The box I designed sits farthest back in the hatch pointing toward the front 2 seats.

How about cutting a square thats like 5x5" out of the back panel as a port, steve meade style. How big of a hole would I cut for 30 hz tuning?

You still have to have length for the port though. If you just cut a hole in your box its not going to be good news. The length of the port is what decides the tuning. longer is lower so no length could cause a stupidly high tuning which would cause some issues.

You are going to run into space issues if you try and port those two 10 in that box. Several people have already told you this, but I will say it once again. Your box "design" is just a shape. You haven't accounted for the thickness of the wood, displacement of the subs, or the displacement of the port (which will be relatively huge to tune such a small box to a low frequency).

Either leave the box sealed or run one ported 12" sub in the proper box. Your ears will thank you.

Oh yeah maybe I shouldve said... The 2.2 cubes for the first box and adding 1" to height and length making 2.4 cubes was found using a box calculator. In the box calculator wood thickness or .75" is taken into consideration...

Even If I did keep on adding in length and height till I get 2.8 cubes, No one has talked up what port design to use? Slot port? L-style port?

I have a ported box design with 2" added to length and height that ill post up tonight (2 inches should bring to 2.6-- cubes)

what about sub, bracing, and port displacement? that all takes up space as well. if your dead set on prting this thing good luck, you can use exposports calculater it will give you more acurate results since it take unto account all of this. you can try a slot port, there pretty easy to build. try and tune between 32-35htz just rememberit will take away from the box volume like it ewas said before tuning a small box low is gunna be very tuff

Alright tonight I remeasured my hatch space and redesigned the box...

this time, 3.05 cubic feet.

Now.... What about the port?

By the way.. My sub box design is a wedge type, so expos calculator DOESNT work with what I want.
