ch0sen Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Ok guys, i joined this forum like 2 weeks ago, been checking on it and reading some threads and trying to make sure it was a mature forum without the 17 year old assholes who think they know everything. You guys should be glad to know that only some of you are 17 year old assholes, most of you guys are pretty legit and helpful. I'm going to be putting a system in my truck i just bought. They previous owner had it wired up with some cheap audiobahns, you know they go to go. I'm gonna take some pictures and use some Microsoft paint and try to get an idea of the box i want to build. I don't know to much about car audio but i do build houses for a living so i can build boxes pretty easy, but hell, i haven't even built a ported box yet. Before i read these forums i thought kicker and JL were the shit, i didn't even know about DD or DC, or FI, or any other 2 digit wonders lol. I have to kicker cvrs and i was wondering witch way i should mount them for the loudest sound in my extended cab truck, i've thought of facing them down, but idk, thought i would ask you guys first, i have 2 cvrs and 1 kicker 750.1, i've thought of selling these after watching some excursion test of some of these dc you guys have. If i got a new amp and subs i would only want to spend 600 bucks (bc some fool will buy my old system for that ahahahaa) Anyways guys, i am completely open to suggestions, and if anyone has any info on any f150 builds please let me know thx, glad to join here My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/

Westfelbernard32 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I have a 2003 ford f150 extended cab and trust me, stuffing anything under the rear seats would be a waste of your time and money. I have 2 alpine type S and i originally had just a prefab box that fit under the seats and the woofers were firing down right into the carpet and sounded horrible so I fliped the seats up and put the box on stilts to give the speakers a little breathing room and they sound much better. For your speakers I would face them twoards the front but if you plan on selling them invest in some DCs or hey, sundown is expensive but totally worth it, guy who owns it is really polite and I am good friends with a member of team sundown andrew jones and his 2000w amp and his highs amp are awesome, but thats my opinion many people on this site would probably beg to differ. gl on your build (\__/) (='.'=) This is Bunny. Marlo Stanfield Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 For $600 for sub(s)/amp I'd suggest an AQ 1200D and a 15" AA Havoc / FI Q / IA Death Row / DD 2515 / DC LVL4 / Alpine Type-R / Kicker L7 / Etc. other tons of woofers that are in this price/power range. Out of all of those I'd personally run the AA Havoc. It's one of the best all around woofers made today, has very good SQ + a good amount of output potential in the right enclosure. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... ch0sen Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 ok, i have decided to remove my backseat all together, go big or go home right? My cvr's are 12s would it be better to have one 15 l7 in a huge 6 ft box, or 2 12 l5 in a smaller box, i'm asking bc i have an authorized kicker dealer in town and thats the only place i will buy my stuff instead of online Can you guys give me some websites to buy some of these susbs you mentions, i've been to the sundown site and the dc site. i've decided to mount my batteries and amps under the box and face them up, if i can find a 60/40 bench seat i might face them forward and the ports up like noted ealier, you guys think thats a good idea I'll try to post a video up of my cvr's in a friends s10, he put them through some abuse(thats why i'm really thinking of selling them, plus i dont' think 2 12 cvrs would be enought for me) My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/
