December 13th US Audio NSPL Show

If you want to come to an NSPL show try this address for a December 20th show in High Point, NC. It is at the shop of the founder of NSPL and will be a 3X event where world records can be attempted. I'm hoping to break my mark of a 152.6 that I did at NSPL finals and if I get the same type of gain in my spl setup that I did in my daily setup I should easily break a 153.

Hey Nightshade, how does NSPL rate the amplifiers power?

Two rms meters are used. One set to voltage and the other a clamp meter is set to amperage. The meters are set to peak hold and then a burp is done. Once the run is over the meters are taken out of the car and voltage is multiplied by current to get your power. For example let's say during a run you had a voltage of 56.8 volts and an amperage of 36.1 volts. That means your power would be 2050 watts. For fun you can find out your impedence rise too which is voltage divided by current and would be 1.5 ohms.

Now let's say you were trying to stay in the Car 0-1800 watt class. You would have made 250 watts too many and would be offered a retry to attempt to get your power under 1800 watts or you would have to move up to the Car 1801-3600 watt class.

Here's a little something for you Chode It is the finals results from this year in NSPL. I see what your saying about having the top 3 or 4 in one class but we like to have the top spot in every class that we run. We did have 2 losses this year though One was due to equiptment malfunction and the other was because a team member did not listen to the team captain's advice. Also note the low score in the Truck/Suv 3601-Up class was due to a pos Sound Digital amp blowing the fuck up and being rebuilt right before the show and ran at 1 ohms to just be able to get a run off instead of not running at all. The amp was supposed to be ran at .25 ohms to do the real power it can do but kept going poof. In a friendly way I will tell you that you will get used to seeing Team High X-Cursion at the top of the leader board and as the World Record holder for our classes

I hope you have more to say than that. If you've never competed in NSPL before then you have a surprise in store for you. There are a couple of teams that rule the land and Team High X-Cursion just happens to be one of them. The others that you'll need to watch out for as well are Team Nemesis and Team Outcast. There are some loud guys on all these teams, but you can see which team took the most 1st place trophy's for 2009

also to add...TDH is not a HARDCORE EXTREME SPL competitive team. We are a bunch of daily drivers with some loud ass sytems...some more into the hardcore competition and some have been to world finals and placed. so i can see you guys having more up there. which is kool. so it may take some time for TDH to be up there..hell we may be up there after this show. but dont count us out.

Nick if you had read my whole post you would have seen that Chuck's Sound Digital amp had fucked up the night before finals. We had to rebuild it in the hotel room on Saturday night just so he could run on Sunday. Instead of taking a risk and it blowing up again in the lanes we ran the amp at 1 ohm instead of .25 where it normally ran. Here is his World Record score from a few shows previous with a different amp. The amp from his world record show was a Sound Digital 8K and the amp used at finals that was fixed was a SD 12K. Anyway here is the score and he is rebuilding with a blow through that will do 160's when finished on the dash.

You got quite a bit to go before you would even catch these numbers off of 3 maximum runs of 0 guage and only 3 extra batteries allowed in the class. I'm just giving you a hard time and this is what we do in NSPL. We antagonize the competition to build bigger and better for stronger matchups. This past year Team High X-Cursion and Team Nemesis were gunning for one another and I don't expect that to change for the 2010 season. Let's throw Team Deadly Hertz into the mix, if you can handle it

Edit: To answer your question about doing regular and hardcore all competitors can do so. Regular NSPL is measured on the dash sealed like Db Drag except with power limitations. Hardcore is measure in the kick panel with either door open and is an extra class you can run like bassrace. Streetbass is available and is the same rules as bassrace so you guys should have some fun with that in NSPL too. Also there is a new format called SPL Eliminator and the details are being worked out, but think bassrace in the Pink's format.

and like said it may take us some time because were all not hardcore competitors like yous guys are. but were damn well gonna try.
