wiring to 1 ohm

I feel like an idiot asking this but if an amp is stable to 1 ohm and it is a mono amp that has 2 outputs on it, do i need to be running 2 2ohm woofers or 2 1 ohm woofers?

you can do two dual 1's or two dual 4's,it just depends on what you may want to do in the future as far as adding more subs or using multiple amps etc..
