fi audio Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Well i think im going to buy a btl 12 and switch it out with my bl 12" in my single cab truck the box is 2.5cuft after displacement and like 34hz.. I think im going to use a audioque 2200d amp to push it. My question is what kind of numbers you think i would be getting also what electrical you think i would need i got a 105 amp stock alt with the big 3? Pic of my current sub/box Setup: Headunit: 7" indash screen Sub: fi bl 12 Amp: Audioque 1200D Box Ported tuned to 34hz Big 3 done in 1/0 gauge
Nightshade Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Numbers are hard to tell, but I'd say at least a 140+ with the listed equiptment. If you don't have any additional batteries then I'd suggest at least a group 31 battery close to the amp. If it were me I'd run an XS Power D3100, but I may be a bit biased since I'm on Team XS Power Also I would consider running a ho alt when you can afford one. If you try running that amp off stock electrical and no extra batts you are going to have some issues with either the sub or amp and maybe even both. I don't suggest running anything until you at least get an extra battery of 1000 amps or more within 20" or so of your amp. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz

I know that Dom's 220 amp alt's will do close to 180 amps at idle, so you'll be set for power then. As for what I think that truck is capable of with a btl 12 and an AQ2200 it depends on a burp box or a daily box. I'm assuming that you will want a daily box only so I'd be confident that if you get everything dialed in right you could do 145's on music. The cab of a single cab truck isn't that hard to pressurize especially with good equiptment. I would like to make a suggestion that you get some aeroports instead of a slot port. For your vehicle I'd say do the btl in 2.5 cubes with 2 4" aeroports the full length that they come which is 18" and that will tune the box to 37hz and it will still play pleanty low as well as in the mid to high 40's hz even low 50's hz. I'm not exactly sure how to tell you to fire the sub/port since you have very little room to work with. Woofer up is probably the best way to go, but I'm unsure on the port firing. Maybe even try port up too, or it may sound crazy but port back with the sub into the cab a bit more than what you have in the picture. You may even be able to try port foward with some success. It's really trial and error.
