Impedance?

I've been searching on this forum and I still cant figure out exactly how impedance works and how it changes from one setup to another.

Can anyone explain this to me?

are you talking about how to wire your subs to get a certain load?

I'm just asking in general with any setup how does the ohms change with different ways you wire it.

I just don't understand it really.

2 Ohm Subwoofer: 1 Ohm

Does this mean If you have two 2 Ohm subs, you hook a 1 ohm amp to it?

and you get 2 ohms to the subs

basic car audio electronics if you really would like to learn about this, you need a good fundamental understanding of it, and that is a great place to start. Basically the impedence is the resistance of the wire which is the coil (coil of wire makes magnetic flux when voltage is applied) Wireing in either series or parallel either doubles the impedence or decreases it by half, and based upon how you wire your subs will give you a different impedence.
