not sure about windows 7 but this worked on my sisters laptop with windows vista, also a toshiba satellite

Start, All Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

Do you have a wireless router? If so, WEP/WAP security on it? You can access your router via it's ip address. They vary depending on your wireless router brand.

192.168.2.2

192.168.1.1

192.168.1.2

etc etc

or

You can press the windows key

Hack%20the%20Windows%20Logo%20Key%20bench3.jpg

and R then type "CMD".

Next type "ipconfig all" "ipconfig release" "ipconfig renew"

my satellite has a little button in the front that a switch, under the keyboard kinda on the left side.. it turns off my wifi connection, you could have 1 and have accidently hit it
