what kind of h/u???? I put a solo x 18 in a 99 tahoe, and 4 l7 15s in another, and never had a problem with the h/u skipping. Make sure its locked in the dash (pushed in till the mounting kit clicks in) if the mounting kit has bolts holding the clips that secure it in the dash are tight, and the cage is locked in good.

99 suburban, ranger rover headlights, SS front bumper, roll pan with frenched tag, 2nd row delete, glassed dash..audio to come whenever I figure out what I want.

I got the same problem, I just keep the volumes and gains on the H/U low whenever I have a CD in. And just plug the iPod up through the AUX when I wanna play at full tilt. That's pretty much all you can do if you are skipping due to bass.

whats a CD? haha jp i dont think anyone that has a system that really hits hard uses CD's for that same reason (skipping) if he spent some money on the system why not give the HU an upgrade and get something where u can run an ipod/mp3 player, flash drive etc. something that does not have moving parts in them so it doesnt skip at all...
