One Kicker L7 15 setup

I know it's nothing close to over the top but I just want something to sound good and get kinda loud. I'm thinking about building a box tuned around 33 hz, and 4 cubes. Setup would be One kicker L7 15 off of a Hifonics Brutus 2607d wired to two ohms. The amp says it puts out 1700 watts at two ohms but we know that's not what it really puts out..I am guessing around 1300 maybe? If I set the gains right on the amp, I shouldn't have a problem with overpowering the sub. This is going into a an 08 Chevy Impala. You think it will sound good? Oh, I am using knukonceptz 0 gauge and an Apline cda 9883 HU.

It depends on what vehicle you have that you can do that your car it might sound good but each car that is different from each other has a certain unique air space in the rear if you know what i mean.

I'd personally fire port and woofer towards trunk, away from cabin. If you don't have the height, sub up port back I would think would work also.

Yeah that's the thing, my Impala has a ton of trunk space to do some damage. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow so you can see what I am talking about. So you think sub up and port out would work best?

every Impala of this body style I have done has been sub back port back. Pull the back seat out, and pull all the padding off the back seat. Its been awhile since Ive done one, but IIRC we aways made the box around 5cuft tuned to 34hz. I do that because people skimp on power and the larger box drops the watts you can send to the sub, turn the input on the amp down when sub starts to slap, and send it clean power.around 900-100watts. Happy amp, happy electrical system, happy customer

Can you fit 2 15" L7's in there? With 4 cubes per? That would be so much better! lol

Personally I'd go sub and port back to be louder but thats my opinion. Someone else with more trunk experience would have to chime in to say if you'd be louder sub up, port back.

Yeah I can fit two back there but honestly, I want to keep the Impala's screws tight...unlike my Jeep. I am just going to go with one f or now...I could always upgrade with the amp I have though.

your proposed set up sounds good, port to the back would be louder in my opinion but should be quite a nice sounding set up and get reasonably loud...
