Man that is awesome. I am glad to see a build with some REAL quality amps like Zapco. Great, great, amps! The control over the subs must be awesome.

Here's some pics of the small but what should be effective bus bars.

every wire is Hi-Press crimped, and then soldered for both mechanical and electrical strength.

Although I have rolls of heat shrink,

I use tape not heat shrink because it doesn't split over time if flexed, and easy to repair if needed.

And here is the Breaker assy mounted to Bakelite.

I ran 0/3 for the power and ground. most everything else is in #2 due to short distance, and the voltage drop will be almost N/A.

the big blue wire that's taped up and Barb-Tyed is the positive wire from my 100F Rockford Cap.

Plus more wire track, which I feel is really the only way to fly !!!

I don't know why I didn't tape up the 5 Blue jumpers, but it was probably due to one of the following reasons...

A - To Lazy that night

B - To many beers that night

C - Way to lazy due to way to many beers that night

OR, ( My favorite )

D - ALL OF THE ABOVE

Well to be honest the rack was an evolution. I originally was going with old school RF power amps. I was going that way because

I could remember the old days, seeing all this RF stuff, and not being able to afford it, and

due to my other interests in automotive, electronics, etc really I just didn't want it

now, I said well, lets give it a try, as I do like music, so I bought the following.

2 - power 300 for tweets

2 - power 650 for mids

2 - power 1000C for subs

2 - Symmetry EPX2 with DSP

12 - 10" sound stream subs sealed in a very cool enclosure I bought off Ebay

etc etc

I was going to put the amps on a wall in the back

I welded up and mounted a rack for 5 Optima's to go where the spare tire was

(I say WAS because with AWD and 31" tires Plus an AAA card I don't need a spare.)

and I know what you are all thinking....For his FIRST build????

sht, first time doing anything with car audio besides removing it completely from my trucks, didn't want or need a stereo

but if you knew me you wouldn't think that. and would know how I am

SO

I stripped down the RF amps, bought all new MOSFETS, BIPOLARS, REGULATORS, CAPS, etc to rebuild them, Sht even bought new heat sinks for a few

THEN DISCOVERED THE FOLLOWING................

A - Both me and my GF have a kid and that setup removed the use of my back seat

B - I couldn't transport tools for side jobs ( which is paying for all this "Stuff" )

C - I discovered ZAPCO !!!!! ( so all the RF amps are in boxes on the shelf for now )

I then switched up and had a 1" MDF box for 2 - 12's built ( I had built for as weird as this sounds, I'm a much better metal guy than wood guy )

and when I got it I folded up the back seats, measured from it to the tailgate

had an almost uncontrolable burst of "bad" words come out of my Pizza\Beer hole.

then started thinking out of the box.

at first I thought....easy pivot out rack...

but after I did build the rack, and have my GF hold it there (no amps on it)

I asked myself....... how the FFFF will I reach what is behind it.

Hence the Mo'Of"Inven'Iz'Ness

then came the slides that needed to collapse to about 16"

yet extend to about 42"

If I raised the box, I couldn't get the subs out or even tip the box over to get them out.

I am really good at engineering, but this switch up plus complications = I Sux, or at least am screwed.....so plan B it is.

if and when I do another build.... after I get this one done it WILL, WILL, WILL, have the following....

( here he goes back to a list....."this guy sux" )

A - Full size SUV

B - Elevated sub box

C - Servo Linear Slides ( screw pneumatics, air compresses, no precision.... to some cool, but no dam precision )

C - Proximity limit switches

D - Omron PLC (Allen Bradley SUX, SUX.... Ask me how I really feel about them )

E - Beer tapper, with cooler

F - Pizza oven

Well the last two are optional........ well maybe
