Bravada Zapco Install In Progress

Well, this is my first car audio install I've ever done and I've been working on this for a while off and on, but now am getting close to finishing.

I'm not sure what I did with the pics I took early on, but here it is.

These three pics were one idea, but I decided it was way to much for now

I'll throw up a few more pics here.

first is the rack slid all the way out the back.

Here are a few closeups of the slides I made. foe each slide, the main base piece is 2 pc of 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle with a strip of 1/8" flat stock in the middle. I then stitch welded them together. the second and third pieces are 1 pc 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle with a strip of 1/8" flat stock. I then stitch welded them together also. then through them in the Bridgeport, and spent about 3 1/2 hrs milling the slots in the upper and lower brackets. I milled them to .575" for what I thought would make them slide easier, but if I doo it ever again, I'll make or buy linear slides, and maybe air actuate it. next I through all the pieces in the surface grinder to flatten the mating sliding surfaces. I got to about .0007" flatness, could have done .0001", but would take many more passes, and what the hell, there slides I drilled in some .497 holes in the center section for a press fit of the hardened shoulder bolts , and then mungo welded them in. they are bolted all the way through the floor pan with 6pc of 1/2" carriage bolts with backers. they work good, but I should have checked the alignment on the Bridgeport cause the slots were off by .009" end to end, so when I slide it out the weight of the rack cocks it to one side a little. oh well still first time trying all this.

I'll post more close-ups of the other welding projects later. long ass day at work.

Thanks, after seeing all the krazy stuff people build here, I think I have a ways to go.
