Cozmoo
Hi, I'm hooking up my friends woofer tomorrow and need a little help with the wiring. He has a Kicker 15in L7 2000RMS DVC 2ohm in a giant ported box He bought a Kicker ZX1500.1 Amp Mono D which has a RMS output at 2 ohms: 1500 watts x 1 chan How do I wire this? I was looking on the12volt and I checked rockford but there is nothing on how to wire 2 ohm to 2 ohm. Help haha. wildcard4040
btw im pretty sure all the L7's are only a 1000watts RMS and 2000 MAX. So i wouldn't throw the full force of that amp at it. Dual 2ohm can only be wired at 1 or 4 ohm so you would need another dual 2 to wire to 2ohm. Best suggestion is sell the kicker and get a 1ohm stable amp Quote i think i just gave myself a concussion i facepalmed so hard. and for the 1's that dont like me..... well, Im still here fuckers. Cant get rid of me that easy.
Guest
your buddy bought the wrong kind of amp to wire the sub. D2 can only be wired to 1 and 4 ohms...kicker amps are safe down to 2 ohms...tell your buddy to buy another D2 L7 (same year same model) and then he can wire it to 2 ohms...or return the amp and get a different one

Team Bass-Hz(JIB)
i think u should just wire it at 4ohm considering u said it will be in a "BIG PORTED BOX" your amp will do 750rms at 4ohm and the Solo-Baric L7 is rated at 1000 rms/2000 peak thats what i think Edited December 17, 2009 by Team Bass-Hz(JIB) Quote Team Bass-Hz
Cozmoo
Thanks for the wicked fast replies guys. The best thing would probably be just to wire it at 4Ohms I guess then, because he just bought that amp and it should be shipped here tomorrow and I doubt he wants to return it. So should we just wire it like this?

Be sure to set the gain properly Quote i think i just gave myself a concussion i facepalmed so hard. and for the 1's that dont like me..... well, Im still here fuckers. Cant get rid of me that easy.
