Guest
What should it be..thats y i posted that i thought 50" of port would be fine whatever the Port Area Range suggests it should be. in all honestly it shouldnt be that hard. the Port Area number is how much port area the box that you designed has. Port Area Range is what the recommended port area should be, XX - XXin2

dwz
Yes pics and vids would be nice because I am in the process of designing a box for my 2 12" type rs..they are already really loud and people can already here me from over 100 ft away they can hear me from inside there house at 100ft..what amp do you have I have two MRP M-500's but I'm definitely getting some voltage drops. you shouldve made the box with more port area. i dont know how people miss the Port Area Range and Port Area calculations when using Expo's calc lol According to the optimum vented box specs in the Alpine Type-R manual, each sub needs 15in^2. So i'm close...

So i'm close... alpine's box specs are complete shit IMO. they want like 11sqin of port area per cubic foot which is just absurd. like i said again, follow the port area range in the calc. More air space would just make the beats messier. I like to listen to some non-rap from time to time. But a 2.3cubicft box /w 60in^2 of port area is next on my list. It's all about experience =P

They also suggest a 27 hz tune for a 15. All you should use those for is a rough estimate on the box volume.
