POSSIBLE Battery connection problem? Please help

Okay.

So I have a completely stock battery (no need to upgrade just yet), but it seems to have a connection issue.

At times, when I try to start the car, the car attempts to start, then everything dies. I pop the hood, lift the battery and it starts working again.

What is likely the problem? Is the battery somehow being drained? Do I just need a new battery?

Are you 100% sure your connections at the battery are 100% tight and secure?

my old truck did that, turns out the connections were loose

Baha... Probably not. The terminals themselves are pretty corroded, that could be the issue. I should get it checked out at the same time as I get my insane belt-related squeal checked out.

Well there you go, problem solved.

Get new terminals. A new batt would be a plus if yours is old also.

Now I'm split. I do need a new car -- maybe I should just live with this inconsistent problem until I get a new car.
