I've been hearing alot lately about using different sized batteries (ex. 6v and 12v) to create different constant voltages. Just wondering how this works? What would I need to do to create a 14v or 16v system?

Oh true. Wouldnt that be optimal for daily driving? The 14v i mean. Most car batteries are your standard 12v... isnt your alternator what puts most systems at the 14v mark?

Would that work if you had a constant 14v all the time?? I have to replace my crank and alternator pulley on my car cause both of them are underdrive pulley's..The Pulley that came on my H O Alternator I had to take off becuase it was to small to use with my underdrive crank pulley. couldn't find a belt to fit...So..I had to order a new stock crank pulley and I am going to put the smaller pulley back on the alternator so it will spin faster and give me better voltage..Right now it isn't giving me 14volts at idle..It is around 12 something...I hope once I replace those pulleys back to what came on the car I will be able to get 14volts constant at Idle...Or at least close..I have a 160 amp alternator..
