Soldering HELP!! *WITH PICS

Recommended Posts

x2, wtf?! heat up the terminal not the wiring itself, push the solder on the back of the terminal and let it flow down and puddle up, then once its filled let it cool down

Same Technique I Use, I have never had that outcome

another thing i do that i think helps is after i let it pool up on the top, i continue to heat it until i see it soak in, then repeat until its full. i also use a clamp to crimp it a little before hand. i had trouble with melting the jacket also, but i think it was because i was using a huge torch, not like the little one in the video.

i am heating up the terminal and pushing the solder back but the solder isnt melting and the jacket is...

First of all, use a small flame. I heat up the back of the ring terminal first so the solder runs down into the wire and "soakes" the threads and then wait until it cools down a bit and then use the flame to melt the solder into the ringterminal (without getting the solder that is allready cooled down to melt again) to make it look good. Like this :)
