Tek
I've heard 2 different things and I just want to make sure of this for the Big 3. Do I connect battery negative to just a random bolt on the engine block -OR- Do I connect the engine block to a ground? I don't want to do the wrong thing and look like a douche bag Thanks, Sam

Every single wire is in protective tubing and runs under the engine and all over the place

maniac74
no on mine i ran the wire from the block to the frame of the truck and then ran another wire from the negetive battery terminal to the body of the truck. ground from the battery negetive this is the frame ground to the engine block Quote 99 suburban 20" boss motorsport wheels big 3 installed (thanks Iraggi) alpine 9886 deck kenwood 11 band eq fosgate t5002 amp running sub kenwood ps200 amp running components jl xr components in front doors jl xr 6.5 in rear doors jl in rear roof 1 FI Q 18" with bp enclosure 8 cubes 138 sq" port 34hz Iraggi 220 ho alt (RF 1500bd coming soon)
maniac74
i would have done the same ground to the block but my 3rd wire was too short, i dont think it would hurt anything to hook both to the block and ground accordingly. Tek
alright cool. so just find a bolt I can use for the engine block, and another bolt on the frame, and call it a day?
Soulman07
Yeah, just make sure you have 1 ground from the block to battery.. one from battery to chassis. An I have heard of a few people grounding the alternator to the chassis too. I don't know if the last one is completely necessary though.
