Kid Coconut Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I am having trouble with niose when the engine is running(diesel) Recently I installed an Iraggi 260amp alternator to run my system and shortly afterwards I installed an inexpensive Pyramid 1600w amplifier just for the 4 mids and highs. I did not notice any noice before installing the Pyramid Amplifier and am not sure where it is coming from. When I turn the amplifier gain all the way down, I cannot hear the noice. As soon as I turn it up even a tad ,the noice or humm or whatever you want to call it comes back. I do have a noise filter installed on the possitive lead of the radio. At times all of a sudden the noise is gone and I can turn the gains up as high as I want without any noise. This is the thing that has me at a loss. I switched out the amp for another Highfonics for the mids and highs. Also used shielded RCA cables and gone..... Finally got rid of the noise period!! Thanks, JR 2004 Ford E-350 PSD.
