And you get an interface and support.

Its the most durable and accurate meter out there.

If you want a cheapo, you wont get accurate readings and the cheapo meters usually only read up to 135 dB

yeah, most cheapos use a condensor microphone. The mic is prone to being affected by temperature changes and changes in the atmosphere. As well as they can be thrown out of calibration when exposed to high SPL.

The term lab sensor has no parts to calibrate, and is not effected by temp. or atmospheric conditions. And its non-weighted.

Most cheapos are A weighted.
