Rudy-86
I couldn't go any longer without a system in my Vic so I picked up some used MOFO subs and built a system around them. kinda cheap, but it does the job for me right now. I don't have many of the build pics because I redesigned halfway through and most of the work pics were useless. I'm also impatient ( I didn't want to lose focus to stop and take pics). So much more completed than progress pics. Not much space left to use as a trunk, but whatever. Enough ranting... Time for some pics. The day I first got her home. Not bad for 2400. Before I bought the system I was bored and polished the rims. Here's the before... And the afters. I really need to clear these things. Love the look, hate the labor. Getting the box ready. 3/4 MDF liquid nails and screws to hold her together. Carpeted and port LED's tested. After amp rack wired and installed. I didn't take any pics of the rack. I was just worried about getting it done at the time. I test ran it and had to lag bolt the port to the box. The back of the port was moving 1" from the air. The wiring closeup. Not pretty, but it's all i could with the available space. Still functions great and will be covered shortly. It didn't seem loud enough for being a 4k system so I bought some 5" ports and added 2 of them to the back seat. Went to a comp that weekend and pulled a 134.9 @ 38hz. Not too bad, but I could improve without rebuilding the box. Quote If you can't hear it before you see it... What's the point?
loganberry
is it just me, or does the box not look like mdf love how you did the ports in the seats to let it breath, and the incorporation of distro blocks for speaker wire Edited January 15, 2010 by loganberry Quote My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk
Rudy-86
Built the side panels and the amp rack cover to clean eveerything up. The sides are removeable to access and use as storage. Hinged the amp cover to bend to fit in there and to keep it held together with one piece of carpeting. This is the distibution block for the 8awg speaker wires. I know they're crooked. I need to recenter the right one=) Quote If you can't hear it before you see it... What's the point? Rudy-86
I removed the rear seat and deck lid to cut out to add some new rears and some ports. Started building a switch panel for the amps and auxillary lighting. Not too bad for $25 and 2 hours of work. 8 switches and a master power. And for some night shots and the auxillary lighting I have. All in all I give myself a B+ for the design and effort. After I added the ports in the seat and deck lid, I jumped to 141.9db on the TL from my 134.9db. more mods in the spring like rounded port, recessed subs, and angled port bottom. Comment welcome. Rudy-86
Very nice. The red abd blues LEGAL where you are?!!!!! The lights are on a switch under the hood to keep them off when driving hence legal but only technically. For show and offraod use only. Legal nowhere in the US. The siren isn't either unless I'm using the airhorn tone because my horn doesn't work. Quote If you can't hear it before you see it... What's the point? The only reason I did add the others was for the air flow and higher SPL. It looked better before, but I anted louder=) Quote If you can't hear it before you see it... What's the point? What do you mean a 4k system? like 4000 dollars or 4000 watts or what? It was less than $800. It is 4kw. CORRECTION: It is particle board. Not MDF. My mistake.
