Couple Box Questions

Recommended Posts

So, I'm thinking or redoing my box for an XL 18....my current is ~6.25 cubes tuned to 32hz

my max dimensions are 34.5 wide, 28 deep, and 35 tall...now the 28 inches deep is TO the hatch, and my current box is pretty much right at my hatch, so thats one reason I'm changing things up.

One question is what would you guys reccomend as the most effective spacing from port to hatch?

and another is will I notice any audible gain/loss if I go from sub up port back, to port back sub back?

u should have 6+inches from the hatch likely dependind on port dimensions and shape of hatch door panel

how do u want ur next box's port oriented

Ok, I just used Expo's calculator and gave it 8 inches to the hatch

but I'd definitely like the port to be facing the hatch

slot port on left or right side would be better than along the bottom since ur length of port will be longer than ur depth

I'd like the port to be on the bottom or top...more aesthetically pleasing to me haha, but if the box works better like that then thats fine, Would there be a noticable difference bettwen having the sub up whic I currently do, than having it back, whic is same as the port?
