You could even go 10cu with the right port/power. To answer the literal question though, "too big" will just mean a loss of cone loading, power handling, and resonant freq inside the box. The sub will act as if it's in an infinite baffle setup at a certain point which is something you don't want. It would have too be blatantly too big for that though. 03navi Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Share Posted January 21, 2010 also the subs in my other truck require a 6 cubic foot box with aero port 3x9(the companies dimensions), But i gave them a 8 cubit foot box with aero ports 4x10 and they sound good!even though the box is 2 cubic feet bigger!
