What If Enclosure is too big?

Recommended Posts

Hmmm that much power id keep it at taht 7.5 or something cuase 4.5 cubs each would seem a little too big and then youd have mechanical issues i would think with that much power

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

You can run either setup and have a good sound with no detriment to the subs. 8cu is great for two 15s. You could even go 10cu with the right port/power.

To answer the literal question though, "too big" will just mean a loss of cone loading, power handling, and resonant freq inside the box. The sub will act as if it's in an infinite baffle setup at a certain point which is something you don't want. It would have too be blatantly too big for that though.

you forget that there is no bracing or nothing in that box once you add bracing and add the subs the box will shrink internally
