Boon Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 You don't need an H/O alt at that power level. Not unless you're running maybe 3k of highs along side that 1.5k Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
Playa Named Joe Posted January 26, 2010 Author Report Posted January 26, 2010 Is 200amps really H/O? My alt now is starting to mess a little bit because of my system now, but it's also probally the only alt the car has had... that means its like 16 years old. But if I did do the 200 amp alt, that would stop dimming and voltage drop? Quote 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
treossi Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 you could get away with a nice 200 amp, it would still be over kill, but if you plan on upgrading and adding more power in the future you'll still have enough alt power.. since you said you're alt was going out already.. it might have been caused by the stereo system, or having a shitty battery under the hood.. if you do plan on getting a h/o alt check out dc power engineering the phone number is 1888-441-0144 they should have something in your budget range Quote Team sundownWESTCOASTSPL.COM we're throwing dbdrag events very soon visit the website for details
Playa Named Joe Posted January 26, 2010 Author Report Posted January 26, 2010 I've checked out their website and didn't see anything for my car. But I guess I could shoot them a call see what's up. Thanks. Quote 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
