I am in need of a portable GPS...anyone into know what's good and what's bad? I'd like to have something thin, easy to use and that has voice guidance.

I was looking at the Magellan and TomTom units online, but I can't seem to find any pictures that show their thickness (the thinner the better)

Go with the Garmin Nuvi 350..tis a good unit..slim, has a text-to-speech functionallity and buncha other shit...TomTom units are bulky as hell, aside from the the TomTom One ofcourse. 350 doesnt have the bluetooth capibility, but if that is really important to you, then you can get the Nuvi 360 then..

I've seen the Tom Toms, they are nice. The thickness in them are about 3". i believe the Magelins are thinner but they are wider. I have a gps program on my computer i use with a USB gps reciever

I was actually going to check out the TOMTOM One XL after work. It seems pretty sweet online, with the the 4" screen and seems pretty thin. I have never owned one, so I am not sure really what to look for.

My buddies dad has a Tom Tom and loves it, switches it from car to car wherever he goes. He had some British voice on it was quite funny to hear some old British guy giving you directions

I've got an older model Magellen we use to go geo-caching. It sucks, & EATS batteries from new to dead in around 3hours, & loses contact with it's position ALL the time along with being inacurate. Don't know how good the newer models are however...
