Fi BTL help

Recommended Posts

Ok guys I have an 18 inch Fi BTL Dual 1 running off of an orion hcca d5000. When I play it at full blast for maybe 1 minute, the dustcap gets hot and it starts to smell a bit. At full blast my voltage drops to about 11.5 volts. i just set the gain with a multimeter and it still gets hot and smells. Also, the amp does not even get warm when it happens. any ideas?

thanks in advance.

how should i fix the clipping since i just set it with a multimeter?

Erm.... did you use 0.5 ohms when calculating the gain?

Set it as if it's 1 ohm. Your amp doesn't make fuck all more power @ 1 ohm.

You're clipping the tits off it, I bet. What voltage did you set it at?
