shake0707 Posted January 24, 2010 Report Share Posted January 24, 2010 Ok guys I have an 18 inch Fi BTL Dual 1 running off of an orion hcca d5000. When I play it at full blast for maybe 1 minute, the dustcap gets hot and it starts to smell a bit. At full blast my voltage drops to about 11.5 volts. i just set the gain with a multimeter and it still gets hot and smells. With the incorrect load on your amplifier it could also put a bit of strain on your woofer. Set it as if it's 1 ohm. Your amp doesn't make fuck all more power @ 1 ohm. You're clipping the tits off it, I bet. What voltage did you set it at? Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
