melonhead
My battery in my 80GB ipod classic is pretty much dead and won't charge anymore so I need to get it replaced. I need help with what Apple part# it is since I can't open it right now. I have some Best Buy gift cards that I need to use so I'm trying to get the Apple part# so I can find the equivalent battery and purchase it from Best Buy without spending any money out of pocket. Can anyone help me?

melonhead
hold the center button and the menu botton for like 10 seconds..that should reset it Yep did that already several times. I already tried different cables. I've tried charging it on the mobile charger instead of my computer. Even the ipod cable on my deck won't charge it. All troubleshooting has been done. The battery needs to be physically replaced.

melonhead
Ok looks like I found it. I punched in the model number off of the ipod and and it gave me a list of what I need. Best Buy sells Lenmar batteries too so this is what I exactly needed. Now I just need to find someone who has a kit that can open it. http://www.lenmar.com/staples.com/
