Help, Need A Custom Box for a TAHOE

Recommended Posts

Sup fellows,

My buddy wants to put a 1 10" Subwoofer in his Tahoe (yeah i know, what a pussy hahaha) , and i was wondering if someone can give me ideas.

Speaker Type: 10" JL audio (just one) Most likely Sealed box. (Unless u think Ported is better)?

Specs:

10" 4-ohm subwoofer

polypropylene cone with foam surround

power range: 50-150 watts RMS

peak power handling: 300 watts

frequency response: 25-250 Hz

sensitivity: 84.07 dB

top-mount depth: 4-15/16"

sealed box volume: 0.65 cubic feet

ported box volume: 1.125 cubic feet

Here's some pix of where he wants it... He said he still wants to make it look stock.

Box Dimensions would be Length 17' x Heght 17' x Depth 9'

I think you should seal that area and just move the sub to where the grill is..??

can fit a 10' in there though.... there's a hump on that left side thats y i put the 10's more towards the right side.

oh and i forgot i would port it simply for the fact that 150w to a single ten wont have much output really...so port it.

how big of a port?

It will suck putting it in the side panel. Build a box all the way across. Rear fire right behind the back seat and port it.

49W X 11T X 9ish D. sub on drivers side and port on pass side.
