Thenumber1z
I have 2 kicker l7 10s in a custom built box. 3/4" MDF ported at 34Hz All airspace is perfect They are running on my Hifonics 1606D Amp at 2ohms Gain is half up, Bass Boost is just a little bit up.( all radio bass controls are on zero) And for some reason When I turn the gain control up past half way it sounds like the subs are sufficating.... They should be able to handle the power at that point. Considering the amp puts out 1100watts at 2ohms and each sub is 600watts rms Why does it sound like that? Thenumber1z
Sorry about the language. I think it may be clipping as well. So I just need to turn the volume down and adjust the gains right? And Airspace isn't the problem, I'm pretty sure. fritosaregood
overgain!your clipping them so bad its audible -Drew my thoughts too, when you said gain set half way that was a flag for me that says, you dont really know how to use a gain knob Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970

skittlesRgood
unplug the subs from the amp. put the leads from a DMM to the speaker outs on the amp. set DMM to AC voltage 20. turn the volume up as high as you want it to go (itll be your max volume) then turn the gain up till the DMM says 46.9v. then your done, plug the subs back in and have fun.
