Can I just cut the 4" hole open more and put a 6" in there Or should i try and make the box a little bigger, because the sub its self is eating up space. and thanks for the help o and I only have maybe a foot between the end of the port and to inside of my trunk side panel 144+ DB'S OUT OF A CONVERTIBLE 12" Funky Pup Subwoofer (The worlds most powerful subwoofer) 6" Aero Ported Box Hifonics - Bxi2010-D Pioneer Deck RD Audio - Front Speaker Rockford Fosgate - Rear Speakers KnuKonceptz - 0 Gauge Wire KnuKonceptz SS Karma - 10 Gauge Sub Wire KnuKonceptz - Krystal Kable Rca Big 3 - Upgrade - 0 Gauge Kinetik - Hc1800 Battery

Ben Building
If you swap to a larger port, then it will have to be MUCH longer to maintain the same tuning frequency. Have you calculated your port length yet using the 6 inch port? How much power are you running on that thing, by the way?
01 S-10
That box is on the small side for sure. Can u make it bigger in any direction. I came up with 1.92 cuft before sub displacement on that box. TDH FTW !!!
bkolfo4
Are you going to competitions, or just a daily beater? Aero ports do not require as much port area as a slot port to work properly. . . and enclosure volume does not determine require port area. . .it is just an estimate for those that can not figure out how much they really need A 6" aero in ~1.8 cuft tuned to ~35 Hz will need to be 18" longer than the 4" port, so keep that in mind. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. Just ordered a 6" port with a 17" long tube. I do have a meca comp coming up, like 8 days. - so I want to try and win, and just do well. I beat daily alot to. I dont know anything about tuning my set up - or cutting or adding length,.. I just slapped a spare 4" port on my box to get by. I could measure it if needed. Im using a 1998 eclipse Iv heard that you have to tune kind of high in these cars. any help will truly be appreciated.. 144+ DB'S OUT OF A CONVERTIBLE 12" Funky Pup Subwoofer (The worlds most powerful subwoofer) 6" Aero Ported Box Hifonics - Bxi2010-D Pioneer Deck RD Audio - Front Speaker Rockford Fosgate - Rear Speakers KnuKonceptz - 0 Gauge Wire KnuKonceptz SS Karma - 10 Gauge Sub Wire KnuKonceptz - Krystal Kable Rca Big 3 - Upgrade - 0 Gauge Kinetik - Hc1800 Battery

The only thing is my port will be inches away from my inside trunk panel,. I dont know if there is any other options really. 144+ DB'S OUT OF A CONVERTIBLE 12" Funky Pup Subwoofer (The worlds most powerful subwoofer) 6" Aero Ported Box Hifonics - Bxi2010-D Pioneer Deck RD Audio - Front Speaker Rockford Fosgate - Rear Speakers KnuKonceptz - 0 Gauge Wire KnuKonceptz SS Karma - 10 Gauge Sub Wire KnuKonceptz - Krystal Kable Rca Big 3 - Upgrade - 0 Gauge Kinetik - Hc1800 Battery
