amp fuses keep blowing

i've had my amp blow both its fuses before messing with the settings while playing i luv your girl by the dream halfway through it.

the first time it blew the settings were 6 db bass boost and 1/2 gain - on the hu it was -6 for bass which my hu allows -6 to 6

then i adjusted my settings from advice on this forum and turned bass boost to 0 and turned it to 3/4 gain. on the hu i had +4 to make it louder

the second time it blew when i played songs that seemed to hit very loud such as put on it randomly blew the first time just 20 seconds into the song. i replaced the fuses with the same settings and then it blows the fuses a third time near the end of the song..

i asked my installer about it and he said its either my amp isnt strong enough for my subs or my gain is too high. my subs can handle more than what my amp is. amp and subs in my signature. the two fuses are 30a if that helps.

my thought is that my installer had 6 db bass boost because my hu was -6 to keep my door speakers from blowing or distorting so he upped it on the amp to make up for it. i dont know if that makes any sense or not. so i turn it to 0 bass boost and +6 on my hu and it blows fuses quick. maybe its sending a dirty signal from my hu by having the bass up so much on it that the amp cant handle it?? i dont really understand this..

i changed my settings back to original for right now and nothing has blown but its just not as loud. and i know people say get a better amp if i want louder but i cant and whatever i can get with this amp is ok with me. i just want to get it set so it doesnt blow fuses all the time.

i dont have an oscope or anything but my installer set it and im assuming he did it correctly.

I would ohm the speakers out and make sure the amp isn't bridged too low. What ohm are the diamond subs? What ohm load is the amp stable to?

Well, you are asking for help trying to determine why your fuses are blowing, your installer even suggested checking your gains, if you don't have the equipment, then you need to find someone who does and have them check our your system.

um no maybe you could just be like yeah, i agree, turn the gain down or something.

i dont have anybody to check it right now and i cant pay for it if they would charge.

Look, not trying to be a dick or anything, I didn't read the last sentence of your OP, my bad. I was just responding to your sarcasm on my 2nd post. Its hard to for someone to guess what your problem is especially since you don't have anything to test with, not even a multimeter. So its like shooting in the dark if you know what I mean. The only 2 ways to set your gains is with a DMM (multimeter) which is not perfect or an Oscope which is very precise. Since you don't have access to that, assuming that the problem really is your gains, is to turn the gains all the way down. Then bring it up little by little. If you can hear any clipping back it down or obviously if you bring up the gains and the fuses start popping again, back it down. That is all assuming that there is nothing else wrong that we do not know about, such as too low of an ohm load. Only reason I say that one is again, you are relying on your installers word. Most of the times when the gains are set wrong, its the sub that is damaged from being sent a clipped signal.

You might want to think about spending even just 20 bucks on a cheap DMM at home depot to get an idea of 1 - Your vehicles voltage while you are turning up the volume, and 2 - the actual ohm load at your amp. You could either be running at too low of voltage which causes excessive current (poof go fuses) or too low of an ohm load.

And don't listen to him saying that maybe the amp is not strong enough for the subs, that is horse shit. You can put a 100watt amp on a 2000watt sub and as long as your gains are set ok, you won't hurt anything.
