  1. seems like I have seem it go either way depending on the amp. The knob on my old hifonics controlled bass boost.
  2. depends on what amplifier it is. This may sound like a dumb asnwer, but if you have the amp already, test it and see! let us know.
  3. thats funny as hell. "He was pryin on this lock door thang here". Cant stop laughing at that.
  4. What's on your mind?

  5. shouldnt you be able to use a relay to do this?
  6. would you want it permanently bypassed, or just during remote start?
  7. do you have the one with the metal key blade or the tip start-without a key blade? Either way, we charge 200 for just remote start installed. Another 90.00 for the bypass. Some dodges 290.oo plus tax, total. Others need a harness that connects the bypass module to the ignition switch plug. Thats another 30.00 at our shop. So about 320.00 plus tax, worst case.
  8. remote start was my concern. Wasnt going to give just anyone that kind of info. Why not? safety. I dont want it on me if it starts up and runs over some kid.

  10. i know i'll get some bs calls on this, but some of those high dollar rca's are directional. Co workers told me that years ago. Thought they were screwing around, kind of like the 6x9 hole saw joke. They were right. Have some stinger hyper series with arrows at the rca end. Reversed them and it helped on noise. no shit.
  11. son of a bitch. same problem. Never thought of the class d amp causing it. I remeber when they came out there was some talk about some kind of high speed switch making noise. I didnt know it interfered with fm, but makes sense. I remember some mtx class d amps that used to squeal when turned on. Hell, my Brutus does it a little.
  12. they aren't too bad. Depends on the vehicle, though. Many new cars have immobilizers, and that makes it that much more fun. What vehicle is it? We charge @$200 installed at our shop. Average price around our town is about the same.. Another $90 for the immobiliser bypass, if needed. Lifetime warranty. As far as learning to do them, that depends on you and who is teaching you.
  13. hahahaha i remember that , that was one of elvis's 18s that got fucked up in shipping. buddy shocked himself and was surprised when it happened!! LMAO always use a powerstrip kids!!!! dont be stupid! make your connections first before introducing power! i just ahd a feeling it was that crowd. yes indeed it was. most of them arnt even into audio anymore, includiong Elvis. Speaking of elvis, he owes me 80$ and hes been ducking me hardcore. its cool tho, its a small world and I will see him around. that mother fucker has more money then tHE Gates family and he is ducking me over 80 dollars?? PATHETIC im not exactly elvis number one fan either. it doesnt surprise me at all. yeah. He used to be alright but got real sucked up into drugs and ruined him. how the fuck do you duck someone youvn known for almost 6 years on 80 punk ass dollars???? and to respond do the users asking about wall socketing. - First (safety first) go find your houses breaker box, and find the garage breaker (cause thats probably where you will be fucking with it) and notice where the breaker is in the panel - next find a powerstrip, like one used for computer systems to plug into for surge protection - find some 12awg or so wire that fits ur woofers coils. then powerstrip UNPLUGGED AND IN THE OFF POSITION twist the wires up into one side of one of the plugs, then the other to the other side of the same plug. try and make the best connection possible. I say a 12awg wire because if you go too big you cant fit it into the electrical plug - next, MAKE SURE ITS IN THE OFF POSITION, and plug that bitch into an outlet that is in the same circuit as the one you eye balled earlier. - next, STAND BACK AND LET HER RIP!!! sometimes the woofer will go go go go and pop the breaker, other times it just go go gos then smokes. Be safe everybody!! we used to keep a cut off plug end at the shop for wall socketing woofers. Everything was the same other than that. Lots of fun. Have wanted to tune a box, especially a bandpass to around 60 hz, thats what hz the ac voltage from the wall is, I think. Put the woofer in the box and let it go. I think my boss would trip if I did it, old boss would have thought it was cool.
  14. wall socketed a diamond audio 12 years back. Dont remember model number, but it had the metal cone. You should have seen that thing turn inside out. We sent it back for "warranty" just for shits and giggles. Diamond sent a letter saying something about not running triple the power that the sub required, and something about learning how to set gains properly. I would have assumed that they knew what we did. Makes a cool sound, though.
  15. If a standard magnet loses its charge eventually, and the coil of the woofer is basically an electromagnet, why couldnt the magnet of the subwoofer be replaced with an electromagnet also? Or has someone already done this?
  16. yes, but if you drop an iPad on the sidewalk, you can get it replaced. no gifts. I dont have kids. But one of my two dogs took a crap on the floor
  17. maybe they were dogging it out. Correct me if Im wrong here, this is an assumption. many people get a "new" vehicle and dog the shit out of it to see what it can do. I get behind dumbasses all the time in cars with used car lot tags on them. Sitting at the red light, light changes, then they try to take off in it like they are at the drag strip.
