Brandon15zzz
Alright i just bought a kicker solo x 12. Right now im looking for something to power it. Because my birthday is less then a month away so this amp or amps is what i was going to ask for. I was wondering if i should get 2 SAE 1200 or 1 SAZ 2000. I was wondering if this amp or amps would be enough power for this sub or not? I was thinking about eventually ugrading to 2 subs, so would it be smarter to buy the 2 1200's since the will be cheaper then the 2000? Plus i was thinking that the 2 amps would put out more power then just the one amp. What else would i need to run two amps? I really want to have some sundown POWER! because i havent heard anything but good things about sundown. Also i would be getting the amps from dB-r. Thanks in advance for any advice or opinions Brandon Quote Vehicle: 1995 Impala SSHead Unit: Pioneer AVH-P4400BHMids And Highs: (still deciding)Batteries: 1 Deka Group 34 Time to make a race car.My Build Log: Solo X 12"http://www.stevemead...don15zzz-build/My Build Log: DC lvl 4 xl 15"http://www.stevemead...don15zzz-build-My Wall Build Log: 4 Lanzar 15's/ 3k+ RMShttp://www.stevemead...t-by-techforce/My Feedback:http://www.stevemead...
thebiggmann12
what are the voice coils on the sub?
Brandon15zzz
the coils on the sub are dual 2ohm Quote Vehicle: 1995 Impala SSHead Unit: Pioneer AVH-P4400BHMids And Highs: (still deciding)Batteries: 1 Deka Group 34 Time to make a race car.My Build Log: Solo X 12"http://www.stevemead...don15zzz-build/My Build Log: DC lvl 4 xl 15"http://www.stevemead...don15zzz-build-My Wall Build Log: 4 Lanzar 15's/ 3k+ RMShttp://www.stevemead...t-by-techforce/My Feedback:http://www.stevemead...
thebiggmann12
that would mean u would need to be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohms...so u should probably get the saz2000d...but check the rated power at 4 ohms on those sae's...if they are combined for more than 2k then go with them. Brandon15zzz
well with the 2 amps i would be able to run it at 1ohm if i had them linked for 2ohm's but running each amp at 1ohm correct? there for i could put around 2400 watts to the sub? Derrick824
With the sae-1200s you would have one amp on each coil at 2ohms and wouldn't be seeing full power. You'd be better off with the saz-2000.
Brandon15zzz
What ohm load would the 2000 be running at then? sodfamily
So you have a single D2 Solo X 12, and if I looked at the specs right they are 5000peak/2500RMS . I would go with the SAZ2000 and run it at 1ohm and you will see 2000watts (probually more with good electrical) With two SAE1200 one per coil each amp would see a 2ohm load and be putting out about 600 watts to each coil for a total of 1200on the sub. So ill let you do the math on that one. If you go with a second SoloX down the road then maybe 2 SAE1200 might be ok, but then again running them at a 1ohm load would only give you 1200 to each sub and that is just about 1000 under RMS. So if it was me I would do 2 SAZ2000 or one per sub. just my 2cents. Brandon15zzz
Stephen right now i dont have the electrical i need. i needed to know wat amp i am getting that way i will know wat upgrades i will need. if i get the SAZ 2000(which looks like wat im going to get know) i was thinking big three, atleast a 220 alt, and either 2 optima yellow tops or something similiar in power. anyone know if this is enough electrical for the SAZ 2000?
