Blazer Rear Glass Flex Issue!!! Breaking! Help!

there's really nothing you can do, I've gone through 3 rear glass strikers...you're pretty much screwed. Just wall it off...then you wont have that issue anymore.

Not the greatest pic, but this is about a week after I put my BTL's in my truck with a subs up port back box. The striker actually failed on the way home from this show.

Where were you getting your replacements?

Its so close to breaking right now its not even funny... I have like 1/32" left lol

When you get a new one try what I told you it decreased what my did by over half atleast.

Skip ahead to about 1:35...it was worse that that one some really low songs.... I put those washers in and it cut it down to about half to 1/3 of what it was moving.

Would it be possible to make the latch wider? Also, using a lubricant might be a better idea, instead a padding the friction it might remove it.

First I would try Lithium grease, mainly because I always keep a can handy, but really any of the ones made for high stress situations should work. Some high viscosity gear grease from an autoparts store may work as well.

Thats crazy, I used to have 6 12s in my blazer when I had one and the metal never got that bad on the hatch.

Had a friend with a neon....I know its not the same as a blazer...but this is what he did he heated up that latch mechanism. The part that locks over the metal loop. so i guess it was like the hook or w/e and he heated it up and bent it so it would hold down his trunk alot tighter. This allowed him to seal the trunk way better. It pulled the trunk lid down to the weather stripping really tightly. Got rid of ridiculous amount of rattttttle also. It took him like 30 min to do. Only prob is he needs a person to push down on the trunk to open it. No big deal?
