NoFearX18 Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Hey guys, I have an 2000 2 door Jimmy.. same as a Blazer. The rear glass, The little loop thats attacted to the glass which goes into the locking mechanism on the tailgate is wearing away. VERY fast too. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what you did to fix this. I didn't think nothing of it until I saw how much it was flexing and looked at it closer... Its bad... really bad. Its so bad that when the system is on i can smell the metal heat up as it wears away... I have a comp this saturday and dont want to see it break while im there... I'll post a picture later on today so you guys can get a clear idea of what im talking about. If you already know what I'm talking about please share your ideas... im not wanting to pay $250 to get a replacement window each month.... Thanks My Videos AQ + AA/Fi FTMFW!!!!!

NoFearX18 Posted February 19, 2010 Author Report Posted February 19, 2010 i just wrapped electrical tape around mine, it lasts about a week then eats threw the tape, so i replace it an so on... thats about all you can do I decided to try electrical tape today. it put a very good amount on it... it chewed through and melted it during a 5 min ride from work to taco bell. so i picked up some gorilla tape tonight and its stronger but its still eating it away very quickly... I hit lows a bit well lol.... maybe too well? My Videos AQ + AA/Fi FTMFW!!!!!

I do a 146.9 @ 23hz I found something call friction tape that last a pretty long time just id go through a roll of it a week if it keeps up.... dunno... any other ideas? Loudcav Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 you might try deadening the rear hatch if it isnt allready also you might try getting a new hatch if thats one that the glass folds up and the tailgate goes down
cqtama Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 nope its the one wherer the tailgate goes up and the glass goes up seperately, seal it shut. maybe weld it. im not really sure the best way to go about it. i think meade has his glass permiantly shut R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.
