white4d96
I have a 1996 Grand Prix. The stock door speaker housings are made of ABS and hold a 5 1/4" speaker, which I have loaded with a pair of MB Quart EKA 113's off an older Pioneer '760w' (125x2@4) amp, high passed at 100Hz via the head unit. My issue is this: The housings themselves buzz like hell on certain notes. They do it with these drivers or some refurb'd sony's I got for dirt cheap just for testing. I have lined the outside of them with deadener, but it didn't help. If I clamp my hand around the housing and the mounts for the speaker, I can usually make it go away, so I think it might be a hardware issue, but I can't figure out for the life of me what else to do: I ran bigger screws and they did the same thing a week later, and it would be a biotch and a half to run bolts and nuts, I think, because I don't think I will have much room from them to the door panel, if any. Kicks are out of the question due to e-brake placement, money, and skill level (broke and can't 'glass for sheeeit.) I was wondering if anyone had encountered a similar issue and found a remedy for it, perchance. Any ideas and/or help would be greatly appreciated. Too many projects, too little time... I'll have to pull some deadener off to get at it but it's worth a try (stupid me covered the bolt holes with the shit :censored: Too many projects, too little time...
