Twisted between the two, but considering they're basically the same, I have a questions regarding both. For those of you who have managed to blow either a Fi or an Ascendant or both, how difficult is it to re-cone them? 1998 Honda CR-V Installed: 1 x Kenwood KAC-9104D amp 2 x Kenwood KFC-W3012 12" subs 4 x Kenwood KFC-1682ie 3-way components 1 x Kenwood Excelon KDC-X493 head unit My Honda Build
Ndnkobra Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I know Fi sells recone kits for their own subs, and its not hard to recone them at all. I dont think AA sells specific recone kits yet though

Ndnkobra Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Its as easy as your solo, just a little different. All you'd have to really do is pull the rubber gasket off the basket, use a knife to carefully remove the cones edging and pull off the cone. Now i'm not sure if you have to cut off the dust cap first either, someone will have to clarify, but thats how you'd remove the cone. You'd have to use some kind of silicone or epoxy when you drop the new cone in though. I think you also have to silicone the dust cap on as well. Its easier than i'm making it out to be, but all you need are two things, a knife and some silicone/epoxy. Get black if you can too, i think you can ask scott or nick to send a small bottle of it with your recone kit if you email them for it
