why keep the subs in the backseat? do you know how easy someone can steal that shit just by walking next to your car?

and heres some advice. you seem to think that it doesnt take a long time to get shit together. my first sub was a kicker 10" C10d, my first amp was a rockford fosgate 200a4 that i got probably 7 months later then a wiring kit about a month after that. you cant just all of a sudden want to buy alot of stuff where you dont think about if its going to really work together well but you hook it up anyways.

well tbh, i couldnt get the box to fit in my trunk... :*( and i think it looks cooler with those subs sitting right behind my drivers seat... its ba... but about the box situation, should i just build another box that WILL fit into my trunk??

it looks cool? absolutely not, itll only look cool if its a wall. it wont be cool anymore when it gets stolen then your gonna whine. sell the 15's get 12's (if you cant fit the recommended minimum space requirements) and build a real box and put it inside the trunk.

but anyway when you first start out work with what you can get...some boom is better then no boom....

One rule I try to follow now though is try not to buy anything that you cant use a while then sell and get back around the same price you payed for it "preferably a lil more lol" ...look for good deals before you buy..

anyway back to topic you have subs and an amp...you need a deck and wire...soon and cheap... I see lots of good head units around for like 40-60 bucks on craigslist and local..older alpines for about that price were usually my favorite

You can try junk yards also they take decks out of wrecked cars and sell them you may also be able to find some wire in one of the cars if you look through enough of them you can also try asking around old steel/welding shops or scrap yards ..they have old welding leads laying around sometimes that they will give you

I have found alot of usable stuff at scrap yards.

Well, i'm 15, and the first time I had subs I didnt know how to do SHIT. So, if you want them in your car, the gayest, easiest, way with 50w max to your subs which is to wire the factory deck to your subs. I wouldnt count on that. Or you can get a home stereo, with the (+) and (-) in the back, and use that. Just get some speaker wire, $15 max. Or use a home theater amp. I used that for a while and works great if you have a nice one. Like I said, the last two are dependant on what you have in your house, and if you even want in your house .. Sorry for not much help, but thought i'd try.

Sell the 15s and get 12s.

Subs in the trunk sound better unless you face em forward and seal em off from the trunk.

If they are just sitting in the back seat will have very little output, when I tested it with my car my subox just sitting on the back seat was the least loud of the three positions I tried from least loud to most loud it went like this -----sitting on back seat-----subs and port facing trunk-------subs firing into the cabin sealed off from the trunk.

You see the reason you dont want to put it on the back seat or you dont want to fire into the cabin without sealing the face of the box from the trunk is, cancellation, by the time your front wave starts to form the rear wave comes in and counteracts your front wave therefore making it seem like you have very little output. Now isolate the front wave from ever being affected by the rear wave and you will notice a huge jump in output.

Im not sure what you are trying to say there, but Underpowering the sub will not cause it to blow(in 99% of cases), its when some one is trying to use there 300rms amp on a 1000rms sub, and is trying to get more out of the amp than it has, they inturn jack up every setting on the amp and deck, sending a very clipped signal to the sub which can cause it to overheat and to eventually fail at a rapid rate(not instantly).

agreed, figure out what you can fit in the back box wise and go to the Kicker site and find out what size box you need for the CVRs ported, if its too big then sell everything and get some 12's since that should fit in that car...

what if i hang onto what i got for now, get a headunit, wire it all up by myself, and THEN at some point during the spring or summer sell it and get something better?? think thats a wise decision?? thats kind of what im leaning towards right now...

You have mix matched subs...dont' even attempt to run them

Like I said, find out your trunk dimensions and what the 15's need as a minumin enclosure, for both sealed and ported...I'm sure 2 15" CVRs sealed wouldn't be bad...my friend had 2 12" Audiofonics in a sealed enclosure off maybe like 800rms in his Sunfire and that thing pounded hard

If you can't fit the 15's even in a sealed enclosure then you know you will need to sell what you have to get some 12's...12's get down when in a proper enclosure, hell I got 2 12's off only 500rms in a my Caddy and it bangs
