Slapuhho Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Okay, so Oren came to my house with question about his sub. He said it was popping(He has 2 HDC3s). After further examination, when we pushed it in it made a single pop noise and then didn't make it if you pushed it more than one time. We drove to walmart and played it; It made the pop noise every time it hit but it sounded fine in the cabin. You could only hear it with the trunk up and standing behind the car. It still sounds the same inside the cabin....soooo... We were wondering if this is serious or just a little thing in the box or the sub that isn't going to harm anything. Please give all your opinions, it would help us greatly. Edit: IT IS ONLY 1 SUB. 4 18's, low power and lots of gay fur. Team gg Team DOA My Videos

Please give all your opinions, it would help us greatly. im not sure but mabe if the subs were bottoming out they might have caused damage to the coil so then that might cause the poping noise and or it might be a problem with the amp Introduce a no fat chicks in the whip rule. Im gonna have tech force make up a sign that says that and put it on my car lol

Guest Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 o though he was running 2 amps umm also mabie the middle part of magnet is off center then that might be it x2 this. check for anything and everything visually wrong with the woofer, magnets that arent centered correctly can cause the voice coil to rub against the side of the magnet on the inside and ruin the voice coil.
