All tests were done with driverdoor in the fully open position. passenger side was rolled up mic in the legal windshield position. 148.8@20hz 156.6@26hz 157.4@30hz 157.4@35hz test two was performed by removing the center port section of the box. 146.4@20hz 155.1@26hz 157.1@30hz 157.1@35hz obviously the resistance of the port is helpful to achieving more output in this set up. I will next test port location. The port is currently on top. I will place at the bottom and retest, see if I have gone up at all. once that determination is made I will also try and add a little depth to the port to further enhance the 26hz note. maybe get it to break the 157 mark, that would be awesome. I have 3 more tests to conduct and might get to them on monday as well, I will keep you updated. MADVIBES Posted March 15, 2017 Author Report Share Posted March 15, 2017 I did 4 more rounds of testing, took two subs out of the box and tested, came within .2 db's of all 6 at 26hz. tried porting the sealed side into the ported side via 6th order tuning, tried making the port longer. bottom line.... wasted my time, all of my tests led me to one conclusion. I was loudest with 6 and the original design. So I ordered two more amps and I am adding 10k more worth of power. also adding 4 more batteries. I am not ruling out the possibilites of running only 3 18" subs in a standard ported enclosure with 10k on each one. I will see what this system will do with the additonal power with my current set up which should technically go up .75 db.might crack that 158@26 if I am lucky. I will also start my new door panels and start making my interior a little more rigid. See if I can get over the 160 hump by summer. MADVIBES Posted April 4, 2017 Author Report Share Posted April 4, 2017 minor update, I got my other amps and they are being repaired as I type. I was playing around with the numbers yesterday. My program, which I know isn't exactly right 100 percent of the time did tell me that 3 of my 18" and 30k watts, with subs in a 28 cubic foot standard ported box would give me 3 db of gain at 25hz over 6 six I have currently and 20k in the fourth order I am using now. I will hook up the other amps and test it in its current glory. then decide if I want another mini rebuild. I have a pretty cool looking baffle and port that will go great with my current set up.
