hoppinAltima
I have had bad alt engine whine coming through my speakers, i figured out that it was because my gains were set too high. Now my question is that does that mean my amp is broken? should i try the other channels to see if its those channels or the whole amp? If so i need to get a bigger amp 4 channel amp because my speakers arent loud enough to keep up with my subs. Last question is what is a good brand for 4 channel amps under 250$ Thanks
calvin_115
So this just happened recently? Are your RCA's on the other side of the car from the power wires? How high are your gains and why do you need it so high? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9893_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P400-4.html Boom RF P400-4 amplifier $239.99 in case you want a new amplifier. hoppinAltima
No there has been whine for months now and i have tried everything to try and fix it. Lowers the gains on the amps took out the whine or at least till i cant hear it. the gains were like 80% up i guess. O and yes the rca s are ran on the other side of the car
az73
my experiences with engine whine have always been either resistor spark plugs are needed or 90% of the time it was a bad ground. btw would strongly recommend p400-4 if you need it. hoppinAltima
my amp is hifonics TXi4408. Its no the deck because i just put a alpine cda 9886 and my old headunit and this one both had the whine. Do u mean my spark plugs are bad or i just need different ones? and i have checked the ground and tried many different spots and nothing worked. Even checked with DDM and all were good to my knowing. kmalinich
try running a ground from your head unit all the way back to where your amp grounds.
skittlesRgood
this may not be what you want to hear but i believe you need a new amp. i had the same problem when i used cheap amps. just have to shell out the money for something of better quality.
