billybunter Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Hi people, can someone tell me what sort of port size i need for 2 15" sub with an enclosure of 5 cu ft. im not too sure how big the port hole should be so if someone can help me that would be great.

Where does length of the port come into play, and therefore adding more overall size to the box to compensate for the material of the port taking up room? Anyway, what kind of subs on what amp in what type of vehicle? They are two fli 15" 400RMS I got told for one 15" fli sub a 2.5 cuft is required (this was fli themselfs) so I just double the figure. They will be ran on a kenwood KENWOOD KAC 9104D 1 CHANNEL MONO 1800W which with the way im hooking them up will give out 900RMS between them, or so I believe. They will be going in to a focus hatch back. I also got told I am able to use a ported sub box with them. Just quite confused to what height length and width the port needs to be.

Yes, that refers to the surface area of the port opening (how big the hole is). The length of the port will determine tuning. I know the size I want the box but I dont know what size I need to make the port. back of box (height one) 19" depth of box (the side of the box) 22" width of the box (looking at front) 40" height two (looking at the front of box) 6.5" this will give me the cuft needed for my subs....I just dont know how big to make the port
