I am just about to start my build for my car. I have mutant 12" 800watt peak 200rms subs and I was wondering if it is best to port the box's or keep them sealed? I am after some bass more than anything from these subs. If anybody could help then that would be great

go find me the T\S parameters.

Kdice is right. You cant do anything without the Thiele Small parameters. At the very minimum you will need the big 3 - Qts, VAS & Fs as well as the Size (Sd). But to do a halfway decent job you need a full spec sheet on the subs.

That being said, you will ALWAYS make more bass with a properly vented enclosure. It is pure math :-) There are many solid arguments for sealed enclosures, but more bass is NOT one of them :-)

There are a couple of websites that have libraries full of Thiele & Small parameters for drivers, but I would first and foremost try the manufacturer or dealer where you got them.

Best of luck :-)

Letifico quod planto magis music...
