I don't have any experience with the newer MTX subs, but I ran several different lines years ago. They were pretty good for the money back in the day, but like I said I have no idea what their new stuff is like.

I am a huge fan of MTX look in the member builds section under CRX Build. There is a couple of options with MTX, the best one would be to go with the 12"square and a TE601D in a slot ported box, but in my neck of the woods that setup is around $600. We ran one of these on 1500 watts at a comp and hit 143db, in a trunk.

i got 2 12 inch Mtx thunder 5500's and there pretty loud off my alpine mrp-m1000, running at 4 ohms getting 300 watts each. Check my youtube out got a few vids on there ya might like.

My motto has always been to stay away from mainstream brands, but I've been wrong before...

But if you're gonna go MTX... please please please only get something higher-end from them... don't hop on here with some prefab kit with a crap amp...
