Destram Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Out of the ones listed, I would go with the Phoenix Gold. I had a set of Phoenix Gold 6.5s, and I was pretty impressed with the upgrade over stock speakers. 2006 BMW 325i My feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/77301-official-destram-feedback/

Both very clean sounding.. parts-express has the pioneers on sale right now from $114 a set and up.. if you go the lanzar route, i would use the opti series 6.1's. they are loud and sound really good and they are 100rms. ive used polk audio and pioneers and they sound really good too, so it really is on personal preference. i dont know much about the other brands.
-Hobby- Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 I put Polk DB series in my Son's car and they sound pretty good. Think they are rated around 75 - 90 watts RMS. Get loud and sound good doing it. The tweeters are silk dome and arent harsh at all.
HK-DEMON- Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 if your trying to stay with a reasonable price for a component speaker set i would recommend going with Alpine type R, now if you want sound clarity with lots of mid bass and have some extra cash i would recommend Image Dynamics chameleon set, thats what i carry in my tahoe, the sound is incredible never heard so much clarity in my music. mxer111 Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Only ones out of the mentioned I have installed are the Ph. Gold and for the price they sound damn good. They got pretty loud with only 2 sets So 4 should fill the car pretty well. My .02 I have yet to here a named comp set that sounded terrible so I think you'd be good with whatever you choose. Looking for a CRX to get back in the game. And a gas tank for my 01 r6. Hit the PM
