Dirty Power ftl I dont get it? What you mean by dirty power? Throw a scope on the output and compare to an equivalent OEM amp, you would be impressed. The big amps you see there are 16.000Wrms amps, they are not cheaply made 3500W amps. The install is critical and any small issues that might go wrong on the whole install become BIG issues when you deal with such high power. Example: throwing more power at a sub than the max manufacturer recommended. Most issues we have seen with 16kDs are related exactly to that, a couple subs and 16kW on them.
Ric Thornton Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 we tested one of the 5k's and 16k's at Trippi's request on a pair of DD3515. the 5k did a 152.7 the 16k did a 155.0 all dialed in with the SMD dd1 (the 16k surpasses the ability of the DD1 so it wasn't tuned with the dd1, but it was left at gain minimum for no distortion) I'm really hoping these amps perform well. I have expressed my concern to both Trippi and Murillo about the horror stories I have heard. fingers crossed.
